I had the pleasure to join and photograph Maisie’s birthday this past weekend. She is a dear and close friend to the family and she actually had a helping hand in raising myself and my brother Devon. You’ll quickly notice that this was an all-white affair! Everyone had a blast and partied all night long through midnight. Check out some highlights of the night below.

What can I say about this extravagant double birthday party over in South Amboy, New Jersey this past Saturday night? To steal Double Mint’s slogan, it was “double the pleasure, double the fun.” To add on, when you get four generations of family together in celebration, it’s bound to be a fantastic night for all friends and family involved. From the two cakes, delicious dinner, the DJ’s throwback jams (90’s jams? YES!), the conga line, the “dose of chocolate” candy bar, and the heartfelt toasts, I can honestly say this was one of the most fun parties I’ve seen in a very long time. Check out some of the highlights from the party below!

A very happy birthday to the birthday girl! The Sesame Street theme was a real winner. Check out some highlights from Aubrey’s first birthday below!

I had the pleasure of spending Saturday night with Ashley and Andrea to celebrate their engagement with a Batman & Joker themed engagement photoshoot. I don’t think there’s a better place to be or time of year than a New Jersey beach at the end of summer. You can feel an energy in the air as people visit the shore, getting the last taste of summer before it’s over for the year. We also could not have asked for better weather nor a prettier sunset for their shoot. These two are a blast and I am really looking forward to their wedding next summer. Check out the highlights from their engagement shoot below!

Here’s a photograph I captured while strolling the Ocean Grove boardwalk in New Jersey on a breezy brisk (late) winter afternoon.
There is something about the beach that words cannot quite capture. It’s a feeling. Through the salty air and cool breeze off the water, there’s a restorative value in it that nothing else can quite emit; a calming factor that tells us that everything is going to be okay. It recharges the batteries and invigorates the mind and soul. It was here before me and will be here after me, and in this very moment, I know it’s all going to be okay.
“When this baby hits 88mph, you’re going to see some serious $#!+!” – Doc Brown.
Doc Brown did not lie! When the band hit their groove almost immediately after taking the stage this past Sunday at Tom n Jerrys in Folsom, PA, we traveled through time. By playing hits from the decades of music past as well as dressing the part (yes, there were costume changes abound!), the band showed just how versatile and well-versed it can be. 88mph makes their official debut within a few weeks. Keep your eyes peeled!

It’s always such a pleasure to see the twins, and even more so when they are down in our neck of the woods as we are an hour and a half away or so and it’s not exactly a hop, skip, and jump away for Katy and Bryan to visit. It’s pretty incredible to have met these girls the day they were born, to watch them grow before my very eyes, and to see how bubbly and social they were this weekend, under a month before their first birthdays.

One of the most peaceful times of the year, in my humble opinion, is sunrise on a warm May morning. It’s not too warm and not too cold, and the humidity that plagues New Jersey in the dog days of summer is nonexistent. The birds sing their songs as they proudly glide through the skies, and the sun brings back the warmth we seem to have forgotten during the bitter cold winter months.
I decided to try to beat the sunrise when I woke up at 6am on Sunday morning. I grabbed my camera, my 18-135mm lens for wider angles and establishing shots, my 70-300mm lens for a closer look at some wildlife, a vanilla yogurt for some sustenance, and I ventured out the front door.

New Jersey’s own Just Another Band brought the party to Ott’s Township at Sewell, NJ on a warm spring Saturday night in April; what started as a quiet and calm evening at a bar ended with what can best be described as a raging fraternity party with the highest quality live-band entertainment, a dazzling light show, and limitless audience participation. If you know the words, grab a mic and sing along at the top of your lungs. If you don’t know the words but love the beat, grab the tambourine and shake your groove thang!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of watching Just Another Band rock Shady Katie’s in Somerdale, NJ. This band knows how to work an audience. From their selection of immensely popular tunes, the band thoroughly entertained the crowd of about 75, transitioning seamlessly from Katy Perry to Dave Matthew’s Band to Green Day, and everything in between. The band danced with boundless energy as the audience sang along with every song – at times Shannon, Bob, and Mike even jumped into the audience and sang and danced with them.
Keep an eye out for this great band at your local bar. Next time this band is in town, do yourself a favor and come out, grab a drink, sing along to your favorite songs, and join the party!
Just Another Band is:
Shannon Kelleher – Lead Vocals
Mike Block – Trumpet/Vocals
Mike Dana – Lead Guitar/Keys/Vocals
Adam Zaccaria – Rhythm Guitar/Vocals
Bob Clayton – Bass
Mark Kelleher – Drums
